Prasoon Joshi clarifies CBFC suggests 'Padmavati' five modifications not cuts

The censor board chairman had last week asked the erstwhile Mewar royal family to be a part of a panel to help certify Bhansali's period drama, Padmavati.

The special panel included Arvind Singh from Udaipur, Chandramani Singh and professor KK Singh of the Jaipur University.

Central Board of Film Certification, held a meeting of the examining committee on 28th December and came to a decision to give Padmavati a U/A certificate.

However, the user also claimed that the same device took exactly 2 hours when it was running on Android Nougat 7.1.2 firmware. The smartphone is powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor along with Adreno 508GPU.

Later on, Bhansali appeared before a Parliamentary committee and maintained that the row over the yet-to-be released movie was just based on rumours, strongly rejecting charges that he had distorted "historical" facts about the possibly mythological Rajput queen, played by Deepika Padukone in the film.

Joshi reportedly said that filmmakers had agreed to the CBFC's suggestions, but no official comment was issued by Viacom18.

CBFC sources say that the title will be changed from "Padmavati" to "Padmavat" and at least three different disclaimers have to be added during the course of the film, sources say. The December 1 release was deferred indefinitely by the makers and the magnum opus has been banned in multiple states, mostly ruled by the BJP.

Julian Assange's official Twitter account not appearing
The Twitter account of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has re-appeared after mysteriously disappearing Monday morning. According to the Wayback Machine internet archive, Assange's most recent tweet is from Friday.

Right from the shooting of the film till the release of its trailer and a song, the Rajput body has alleged that there are two elements in the film which have no historical record. "Can you imagine what title the CBFC would suggest?", Twitter influencer Ramesh Srivats posted, "Both Sanjay Leela Bansal and Prasoon Josh are happy about Padmavat, and they hope this compromise is acceptable to Narendra Mod and Rahul Gandh". "The members of the panel had insights and also some reservations regarding the claimed historical events and socio-cultural aspects which were duly discussed at length", Joshi said.

We have to see what will Bhansali do finally, while Deepika Padukone, Ranvir Singh and Shahid Kapoor moved to their next projects already but waiting to promote this film. "They are in agreement with the modifications", the Board said.

CBFC has also asked the makers to modify the song "Ghoomar" to make the depiction befitting the character being portrayed.

9th Circuit rules against third travel ban
Trump didn't justify the ban, that it overstepped his powers and that it amounted to unconstitutional discrimination . While the appeals court panel deemed Trump's order illegal, the judges did not say it should be completely halted.

Karni Sena has been spearheading the nationwide protests against the screening of the film. Also, keeping in view the interests of the Karni Sena and other fringe groups, the board has decided on more than 26 cuts in the film.
