CNN corrects report about Trump campaign and Wikileaks tip

He said the person appeared to be a Trump supporter, pointing to information that had already been released publicly by WikiLeaks. The sender thought he had obtained then-candidate Trump's email.

Earlier this week, Trump Jr. spent almost eight hours testifying in a closed session before members of the House Intelligence Committee about a January 2016 meeting at Trump Tower and his communications with WikiLeaks, as part of an ongoing probe into alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election in the US.

"I won't hold my breath for an apology, or for you to call out your puppet masters on the left that fed you BS knowing you would gleefully run with it without ever checking the other side", Trump Jr.

The error, which comes on the heels of an arguably bigger blunder from ABC News investigative journalist Brian Ross, gave the president and his surrogates fresh ammunition to, again, condemn the mainstream media, specifically CNN, as "fake news".

The Washington Post and Wall Street Journal threw cold water on the CNN story hours after it was published and noted it got the date wrong in its reporting about when the Trump campaign received the email about Wikileaks.

Amazon Echo, now available in Canda, India and 26 more countries
According to Bloomberg , the company has already signed up Warner Music Group and is in talks with Sony and Universal Music. YouTube has reached out to artists to seek their help in promoting the new service, one of the people said .

CNN reported Friday that congressional investigators are interested in an email Trump Jr. received on September 4, 2016, that included an encryption key and link to a website with leaked emails from former Secretary of State Colin Powell.

Trump Jr. told investigators he had no recollection of the email, but it was described to CNN by multiple sources and its existence was verified by Trump Jr.'s attorney. CNN initially claimed the Wikileaks email was dated September 4 – ten days before the watchdog publicly released its filings.

The day before, WikiLeaks had tweeted links to what the group said was 678.4 megabytes of DNC documents. The panel's interview with Trump Jr. was supposed to be private.

Adding to the controversy over this particular email is that Mr Trump Jr has had prior contact with Wikileaks, by his own admission.

Futerfas characterized the message as one of thousands that Trump Jr. and the campaign received "from individuals all over the world with opinions, suggestions, ideas and commentary".

Google is blocking YouTube on Amazon's Echo Show and Fire TV
In September, Google removed YouTube from the Amazon Echo Show before later reintroducing the video sharing application. Alphabet Inc ( NASDAQ:GOOGL ) isn't going to take its products' exclusion from Amazon's marketplace lying down.

Both CNN and ABC have both had to issue corrections for misleading and false reporting.

The top Democrat on the House intelligence committee said Friday his panel is looking into the email.

This new revelation also raises again the question of why Trump Jr. did not contact the Federal Bureau of Investigation over any of this, as one is supposed to do when approached by foreign agents with offers of help for a presidential campaign.

It also came less than three weeks before WikiLeaks and Trump Jr. began exchanging direct messages on Twitter, according to CNN. "We're going to speak the truth", Trump said during a Friday night rally in Florida.

Singapore Airlines reroutes flights to avoid N Korean missiles
It should be noted though that if the latest test of the Hwasong-15 ICBM failed on re-entry, it did so on a lofted trajectory. The crew on at least three commercial flights on Korean Air and Cathay Pacific have reported sighting the missile in the air.
