Apple releases iOS 11.2 with Apple Pay Cash and more

Apple has moved quickly to fix the phone-breaking bug, breaking usual precedent to release iOS 11.2 on Saturday (three days earlier than its regular Tuesday release schedule). The issue seems to affect people randomly, with our iPhone X being affected and only a handful of reports across the internet on various sites and Twitter. Apple's new peer-to-peer payment service was supposed to have been released with the first version of iOS 11, but the company made a decision to delay the feature to a future update. Several iPhone users who installed iOS 11.2 have tried to use Apple Pay Cash to no avail.

If there's one thing that Apple excels at, it must be at how quick it reacts to bugged out software updates. On a related note, iOS 11's confusing behavior change for Control Center's Wi-Fi and Bluetooth buttons is now explained by the system the first time you toggle one in iOS 11.2. If you are looking to downgrade iOS 11.2 to an earlier version of iOS 11 right now, then simply follow the steps outlined below. Additionally, there are some updated live wallpapers for the iPhone X. Users can download iOS 11.2 on the compatible device by going to General Settings Software update.

The update is available on the iPhone 5s and later, the iPad mini 2 and later, the iPad Air and later, and the 6th-generation iPod touch. Once you're on iOS 11.2 turn notifications back on.

iOS 11.2 also adds support for Apple Cash Pay. Tap "Download and install" next to the iOS 11.2 listing and you'll be good to go. It was noted that folks on the iOS 11.2 beta didn't have the issue and Apple rushed it out to the masses because of that.
