Ezekiel Elliott's 6-game suspension back on

Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott skipped his weekly media session and Thursday practice to attend his latest suspension appeal hearing.

So, Elliott will nearly certainly miss that contest and many experts expect he'll serve the six-game suspension in full after this ruling.

Elliott was in court and the denial of the injunction makes him ineligible in Sunday's game at Atlanta.

He has for months said the trip was made as a private citizen, not as part of his role with the Trump campaign. The Senate Intelligence Committee is conducting its own investigation into Russian interference.

Elliott can still file an en banc appeal and could petition the Supreme Court, but it's highly unlikely that this decision gets overturned. Those contests being against the 4-4 Falcons, the 8-1 Philadelphia Eagles, the 3-5 Los Angeles Chargers, the 4-4 Washington Redskins, the 1-7 New York Giants and the 4-5 Oakland Raiders.

The court's ruling allows the NFL to re-suspend Elliott for six games, per NFL Network's legal analyst Gabe Feldman. After the investigation wrapped in August, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell suspended Elliott, saying he violated the league's conduct policy. Elliott denied the allegations under oath during his National Football League appeal.

Elliott's injunction request was denied therefore his suspension begins immediately.

The NFLPA has argued a suspension would irreparably harm Elliott's career.

A federal appeals court last month tossed out his court challenge in Texas, but the league's request for a NY court to affirm that it had acted properly led to a judge ruling last week that Elliott must begin his suspension.
