Here's The Info You Need About The Spectacular Orionid Meteor Shower Tonight!

The Orionid meteor shower will peak tonight across the sky.

The Orionid meteor shower occurs each year as the earth moves through debris left behind by Halley's Comet, the source of the Orionid meteors.

If you'd like to see the meteor shower - provided we're blessed with clear skies - make sure you're far away from any light pollution and allow your eyes to adjust to the dark for about 20 minutes.

Draymond Green's MRI On Knee Comes Back Negative
Draymond Green exited the Warriors' season opener with a strained left knee. "Somebody said we don't take defense seriously". In 76 games last season, he averaged 10.2 points, 7.9 rebounds, 7.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.4 blocks.

The Orionid meteor shower, named after the direction from which the meteors appear near the Orion constellation, is particularly dramatic because essentially the Earth is hitting a stream of particles head-on.

"If you can courageous the cold, make a plan to stay out between midnight and 3am on Sunday morning to give yourself the best chance, and enjoy the thrill of seeing tiny flecks of Halley's Comet disintegrate at hypersonic speeds above your head", Mr Kerss said.

"Look near Orion's club in the hours before dawn and you may see up to 10 to 15 meteors per hour", said Jane Houston Jones, from Nasa's Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

If you miss it tonight, you can try again in the wee hours of Sunday morning, and a few stray meteors might still be spotted as late as November 7. While it won't be as spectacular as the Perseid meteor shower was, it will still be an incredible event.

The darker location you visit, the brighter the meteors will appear in the sky.
