Uber investors Benchmark are suing Travis Kalanick

A major Uber investor on Thursday sued founder Travis Kalanick, accusing the recently departed chief executive of covering misdeeds while rigging the board in order to return to power at the company.

Benchmark Capital, one of Uber's most influential investors, is suing former CEO Travis Kalanick for fraud, according to Axios.

The suit contends Kalanick essentially duped Benchmark into agreeing to expand the Uber board by three seats to 11 people, giving the then chief executive the power to appoint members.

Best ways to safely view the solar eclipse
Total eclipses are special because they allow us to see the outermost layers of the sun , called the chromosphere and the corona. Avid skywatchers are in for a celestial treat as a partial lunar eclipse will be visible from the starry night on Monday.

Benchmark in the suit says it wouldn't have.

The board removed Kalanick as CEO in June after a series of sexual harassment scandals and revelations of long-standing misbehavior at the executive level were reported in the press. It's the latest sign that, despite Kalanick's recent resignation from Uber, the company continues to find itself immeshed in Kalanick-related chaos.

Kalanick, who had been the driving force behind Uber's massive global expansion and whose brash style had made him a liability, still holds a large voting stake in the company, whose $68 billion valuation makes it the world's largest venture-backed startup.

Fair Fare Advocates Respond to Millionaire's Tax
Lhota said the mayor should partner with him and match the state funding immediately to " turn the trains around ". De Blasio's plan also includes funding to offer half-price fare cards for low-income riders.

Another early Uber employee, Ryan Graves, announced Thursday that he is stepping down from a vice president role but will keep his seat on the board.

Benchmark itself has a seat on the board and aided efforts to get the former CEO to resign in June.

The lawsuit is completely without merit and riddled with lies and false allegations.

First major preseason poll is out
The Seminoles, who topped MI in last year's Orange Bowl, are ranked No. 3 entering 2017 after ending the 2016 campaign at 10-3. The AP Top 25 Poll will be released in late August, with the first College Football Playoff poll being released on October 31.

Uber's troubles include a trade-secret lawsuit by Alphabet Inc's Waymo unit that led to the departure of a star engineer and hobbled Uber's self-driving auto program; sexual harassment allegations that led to a major internal investigation and the dismissal of several top executives; and alleged misconduct by Kalanick and other executives in handling a rape committed by an Uber driver in India. Uber has fired at least 20 employees as a result of that investigation.
