Cause Released on Fatal Ohio Fair Incident

The amusement ride that broke apart at the Ohio State Fair last month, killing a teenager and injuring seven others, was due to "excessive corrosion", the investigators have determined.

According to KMG, the Fireball in OH was 18 years old.

The company also stated that it had conducted an investigation into the accident that included a visit to the scene, review of video footage of the incident as well as a metallurgical inspection of the attraction.

West Virginia governor announces plan to switch parties
House Speaker Tim Armstead, R-Kanawha, who was at the rally, said he wants to welcome Justice to the Republican party. At the time of the switch, the state party website was filled with anti-Justice press releases and posts.

He added, "This finally led to the catastrophic failure of the ride during operation". "On the Afterburner in OH we did the maintenance until a few years ago", Kroon said at the time.

It ultimately caused the metal arm of the ride to be weakened to the point of breaking off - which is exactly what happened on July 26 at the Ohio State Fair, when one of its passenger carrying gondolas detached from the supporting sweep arm and went flying into the air. He was about to begin his senior year in high school and had enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps the week before he was killed.

Two days after the incident and government ordered shutdown, the state fair reopened "low impact" rides and its "Kiddieland". The fair's last day was Sunday.

The ride cleared inspection just hours before it malfunctioned.
