Trump to host Indian PM Modi at White House in late June

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a two day visit to United Sates on 25th of this month.

The H-1B visa issue, the menace of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism, Indo-US strategic cooperation including defence ties, India's NSG membership bid, increased Chinese assertiveness in Asia and the Paris climate deal are likely to be among the issues on the table when Prime Minister Narendra Modi meets US President Donald Trump on June 26.

This will be the first meeting between the two leaders.

"Their discussions will provide a new direction for deeper bilateral engagement on issues of mutual interest", the ministry statement said.

Trump was elected as the President of the USA previous year.

Qataris banned from Qantas flights to Dubai - airline executive
There was no official comment from either the Federal Bureau of Investigation or the NCA about the claims of the Russian hack. Beyond hosting US troops, Qatar has invested billions in the USA and increased its clout in Washington along the way.

The White House's spin on job creation by India in the U.S. is in contrast to Trump's comments about jobs fleeing to China and elsewhere.

"India probably has the highest number of Trump-branded real estate projects outside of North America", said a spokesperson for Tribeca, a Mumbai-based developer that acts as Trump's partner in India.

Modi had vowed that India, the world's third-largest polluter, would go "above and beyond" its commitments, as external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj rejected suggestions India acted disingenuously in signing the pact.

Apart from ways to enhance trade and business cooperation, the two leaders are expected to discuss defence ties. During the call, Trump underscored that the United States "considers India a true friend and partner in addressing challenges around the world". Having long enjoyed continuity and bipartisan support across administrations in Washington and New Delhi, the statement clearly indicates both sides hope to extend that spirit of accommodation despite some early wrinkles in the Trump dispensation.

A proposed overhaul of H-1B visas - working permits used by thousands of Indian software engineers to work in the United States - has caused huge concern.

The Indian PM is also expected to challenge the Trump's administration's decision to reduce H-1B work visas.
