Envoy Haley says U.S. won't let the United Nations 'bully' Israel anymore

Channel 2 News has learned that during their meeting in Jerusalem today (Wednesday), US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu agreed that their countries will work together in the UN in order to nullify the Security Council resolution against the settlements in the West Bank.

The American Civil Liberties Union says in a statement that it's "hard to take Ambassador Haley seriously on US support for human rights in light of Trump administration actions like the Muslim ban and immigration crackdowns".

This comes one day after threatening to withdraw USA participation in the Humans Rights council for its treatment of Israel.

"I have never taken kindly to bullies, and the United Nations has bullied Israel for a very long time and we are not going to let that happen anymore", Haley said.

Trump Organization To Build 'American Idea' Hotels
Danziger wouldn't say how many American Idea hotels he hopes to build, but he talked big in an interview. Trump Hotels™ is a family enterprise with a history of providing extraordinary customer experiences.

Haley's straight-shooting style and her focus on a pro-Israel agenda at the United Nations have earned her so much goodwill from Israeli officials that they are willing to overlook what policy differences do exist.

"It's hard to accept that this council has never considered a resolution on Venezuela and yet it adopted five biased resolutions in March against a single country - Israel", Haley said.

Zeid, a Jordanian prince, acknowledged that some people would respond "that the experiences of the two peoples are not equivalent: How could I mention them in one breath?"

But in Israel, the fiery former SC governor enjoys superstar status - along the lines of that enjoyed by Israeli actress Gal Gadot, who's starring in "Wonder Woman" - from a nation grateful for Haley's robust defense of it on the global stage.

Minnesota joins U.S. Climate Alliance
What the Climate Alliance ends up doing will determine if the actions taken count as an impermissible interstate compact. Trump has called it a "job-killing regulation" and ordered the Environmental Protection Agency to review the plan .

"You know, that's all I've done, is tell the truth, and it's kind of overwhelming at the reaction", Haley said in response. She said "the U.N was such a bully to Israel because they could". "I have no patience for bullies, and the United Nations was being such a bully to Israel, because they could".

"I am looking forward to taking in the history, the beauty, the tradition, and all that comes with the magic of Israel", she said.

In a brief address earlier, Haley urged reform of the 47-member body, criticized its "chronic anti-Israel bias" and said "no human rights violator" should be allowed a seat.

"America does not seek to leave the Human Rights Council", Haley insisted in her remarks. Israel is the only country with a dedicated rights council agenda item, known as Item 7.
