In another early result at the year's second major tennis tournament, No. 7 seed Johanna Konta of Britain bowed out with a 1-6, 7-6 (2), 6-4 loss to 109th-ranked Hsieh Su-wei of Taiwan.

The 26-year-old Konta started well dominating the first set 6-1 in just 26 minutes claiming her opponents serve in the second and sixth games to look totally in control.
