New Jersey's Newark Airport reopens after plane engine fire

Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey temporarily shut down late Tuesday after an engine fire prompted the evacuation of an airplane, officials said.

Greater Manchester Police say two men were arrested overnight Thursday in Manchester and in the Withington area south of the city.

If a flight is still overbooked, the first to be asked to leave will be standby passengers who have for some reason been allowed to board, the ministry said.

According to news sources, the right engine of United flight 1579 bound for San Francisco broke out in flames.
