Friday forecast: Scattered storms today & tonight

Tonight's round of rain will have some bearing on where storms will be most favored Thursday afternoon.

TONIGHT: It looks to be still slightly humid for those south of the Missouri river where storms look to develop from 5PM-11PM tonight. This means you can expect dreary conditions and some cool temps. On Saturday, despite that partly sunny start, clouds then eventually showers take over. For those of you less enthused about the rains, we should have a break from it for a good part of Friday. We'll have a north wind this evening under 8 miles per hour with temperatures dipping to the mid 50s tonight.

Tonight: Showers remain light and widely scattered for much of the area, but to the south of the city more steady rains are possible overnight.

The rain and chance of storms continues through the evening and overnight. However, a couple of leftover showers could still mix in as low pressure churns over the area and away from us. Not to worry. Mother's Day is looking just fine.

Mother's Day will be sunny with highs in the 70s in the mountains and low 80s in the Upstate. Many areas will enjoy a mostly sunny, dry, and mild afternoon Saturday. Highs are going to warm back up into the lower-90s by Tuesday. Temperatures and humidity levels will be lower, making for a comfortable afternoon as temperatures warm to near 70°. Highs hold in the upper 50s to lower 60s, more than 10 degrees below normal.

Today other than some high clouds early this morning especially southeast of the turnpike there will be plenty of sun with highs in the low-mid 70s.
