Several kids hurt in school bus crash north of Bemidji

A crash that toppled a school bus on its side Thursday in Las Vegas killed the driver of another vehicle and injured at least 16 children, including a young passenger in the auto who was in critical condition, authorities said. That patient was a passenger in the vehicle that was involved in the crash with the bus.

Police say the driver of a demolished white sedan died and a child who was in the vehicle was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

Thirteen of the wounded students had injuries not considered life-threatening, the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada said.

No information was immediately available on what caused the crash, Metro Police said.

Two others were treated at another hospital and released.

The teen said he also saw someone with a cut near their eye. The student who was airlifted was injured when his arm was pinned between a bus seat and a window.
