Lochte feels 'hurt' after 'Dancing with the Stars' incident

LOS ANGELES (AP) — "Dancing with the Stars" host Tom Bergeron says everyone was shocked when two men rushed the stage to protest Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte after his performance on the ABC reality competition. I came out here and wanted to do something I am completely not comfortable with. Brazilian authorities said Lochte and several other men damaged the gas station bathroom and urinated in public, which led to the incident. The two were taken into custody and face misdemeanor trespassing charges.

Lochte joined "Dancing with the Stars" after becoming embroiled in an global controversy during the recent Summer Olympics, in which he and other Olympic swimmers fabricated being robbed at gunpoint in Rio, Brazil, during a night out.

When the show returned from commercial break, Locate said he was "doing good" but admitted he was feeling "a little hurt".

Confirming a report from earlier in the week, Gronk said he is not 100 percent healthy and considers himself "week-to-week". The lingering injury may also be a reason why the team made a decision to go with four tight ends on the 53-man roster.

Video posted on social media taken from the audience section also showed a group of at least five women wearing shirts with the same anti-Lochte symbol. PEOPLE reports that the older of the men was tackled by security guards as he yelled into the camera and shoved into Lochte, Burke and Bergeron. The incident happened as the judges analyzed Lochte's foxtrot routine with his partner Cheryl Burke.

And while it's been a few weeks since his apology, Ryan's debut on Dancing with the Stars on Monday night (September 12) proved that people are still fuming.

Professional dancer Witney Carson, who this year is paired with Robert Van Winkle, known best as Vanilla Ice, said she'd never seen anything like the incident during her time on the show. The swimmer added that he was "a little hurt, but I came out here".

Lochte joined Season 23 of "Dancing With The Stars" after a spate of negative publicity he received for admitting he "over-exaggerated" claims that he and fellow swimmers were robbed at gunpoint in Rio de Janeiro. One man called Lochte "a liar". "I looked at Cheryl [Burke] and she just smiled and said, "You just did what you said you can't do".

Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays on ABC. He didn't know if it was a big attack or just focused on Lochte.
